Chan Ssu Chin- Silk-Reeling Exercises

• Closing breath- arms circle outward and up (inhale), squash energy to face with hands and then down the front of the body (exhale); finish each exercise with this closing breath

• Standing: Torso turning head left and right

• Standing: Rotate neck from te torso, clockwise and counter wise

• Bow stance rocking backward and forward: loosely circling shoulder clockwise (CW) (while going back): then do counterclockwise (CCW)

• Wide horse stance up and down: circle both shoulders outward when going up; then do inward

• Bow stance backward and forward: hands in fists and like opening (backward_ and closing double doors (forward)

• Bow stance backward and forward: one-sided cloud hands

• Lazy dragon rolling on the beach
Bow stance back and forth: hand spirals behind body but down forward (forward)
Wide horse stance: shift left and right, alternate hand spirals

• Lazy about tying the cat
Bow stance back and forth: start from holding ball (backward) (rear hand on top), then upper block with forward hand (forward)

• Wide horse stance up and down: hands go up center of body (up) and then outward and down (down); then reverse direction of arms

• Bow stance back and forth: thrust hands forward at shoulder height with palms up (forward), then palms turn out and swing out (backward); reverse direction_ _ hands go behind body and swing around to front

• Wide horse stance up and down: arms make small circle outward (down then thrust diagonally up left and right(up)

• Reverse direction – – arms make small circle inward (down) and thrust horizontal to left and right (up)

• Bow stance back and forward: hold fist near shoulder and circle elbow clockwise (backward); then do counterclockwise

• Wide horse stance up and down: fists up center of body (up) and outward within body outline (down); do reverse

• Bow stance back and forward: torso rotates wrists clockwise and counterclockwise; do both left and right sides; do both wrists at once, outward and inward rotation

• Pelvic circles: horizontal circles clockwise; then do counterclockwise
Vertical circles forward and backward

• Medium horse stance: turn torso to left and right and strike with two fists fingers on top
Do circle windup with fists (turn one side then other) and then strike as above (turning)

• Rotate around torso clockwise and counterclockwise

• Bow stance back and forward: alternate punches

• a) Wide horse stance: hands on one knew and rotate knee clockwise and counterclockwise
b) Medium horse stance: hands on each knew and circle outward and inward
c) Wide horse stance: hands on each knew and circle outward alternately; then do inward alternately

• on one leg: little circle windup with other leg and then heel kick out and down; do left and right

• Stand with feet forming a T and then turned out in opposite directions; both sides

• Pull energy in with fists at shoulder height (inhale) and jiggle torso with legs and fists holding fast

• Bow stance back and forth: palms up and circling horizontally
