1. The head should be upright so the shen (spirit) can reach the headtop.
Let the head be light and allow the qi to lift it up.
2. Sink the chest and pluck up the back.
Relax the chest and instead breathe with the belly. Qi in the tantien fills up and rises up the back.
3. Sung (relax) the waist.
Breathe with the belly. Allow the qi to fill the tantien. The waist is the commander of body movement.
4. Differentiate insubstantial and substantial.
Be mindful of where your weight is and where it is not.
5. Sink the shoulders and elbows.
Be like a puppet on a string.
6. Use mind and not force.
Move with your mind and not your muscles.
7. Upper and lower mutually follow.
Move from the legs and then channel your energy through the waist and then into the arms.
8. Inside and outside coordinate.
Use the mind from inside the body and let it lead the outside of the body.
9. It is mutually joined and unbroken.
Keep a continuous flow of your mind through the body when moving.
10. Seek stillness in movement.
While moving, hold on to a central focus.
