I’m just wild about Standard Process. How many of you take some kind
of vitamin, herbal, or nutritional supplement on a daily basis? This is
remarkable, isn’t it? This is not surprising because in 1997 4 out of
10 Americans used some kind of complementary and alternative medicine
Money spent on herbal therapies, vitamins, and diet products totalled

I’ve spent years studying and practicing macrobiotics. It’s a
discipline using diet and oriental principles for natural health and
happiness. I taught macrobiotics, I taught cooking, (would you

A hard sell. Like trying to convince the mafia to give up their guns.J
Well, it’s been tough since I’ve been married again (I don’t mean my
marriage, we can go into that some other time), J I meant trying to eat
good has been tough, because I haven’t done much cooking for myself —
grandma does it. I still try to eat healthy with what I have, but it is
really enough?
I don’t think so. The statistics agree with me. And that’s why I
want to share Standard Process with you. It’s the closest thing to
quality food in a pill. I?m going to tell you why whole food
concentrates work better than your usual vitamin and nutritional
supplements; I?m going to show you how they make high quality products,

Standard Process beats their competition because they use whole
foods. For a long time, I was the last person to believe in vitamins or
supplements. Whole foods were it; they have all the vitamins and
minerals you need. Nature through it’s wonderous intelligence knows
just what to put together for you. There’s a synergy that happens with
whole foods that you don’t get with the single vitamin or nutrient
approach. Synergy means that you get more than 2 out of 1 plus 1. Take

Vitamin C is a good example of this. Vitamin C is better utilized
when it is combined with bioflavonoids. It so happens that the
bioflavonoids are found in the white rind of the orange. So instead of
just drinking orange juice, or just taking vitamin C, you should eat
some of the rind in your orange to optimize your nutrition.
To give you an idea of what Standard Process does, let me describe
it’s formula of vitamin C, they call it Cataplex C. Cataplex C contains
bioflavonoids and rutin to help with blood vessel health. It also
contains Vitamin K which promotes the clotting of blood. It also
contains vitamin J which helps with the oxygen-carrying capacity of the
blood. Oh, they’re pioneers, they just do vitamin alphabet soup.J
Cataplex C also contains tyrosinase, an organic copper and an adrenal
activator. They claim that products containing the most tyrosinase
really are the ones that produce the best clinical results. So how do
they make this combination of nutrients? They make their Cataplex C by
removing the water and fiber from raw, whole foods — we’re talking
about alfalfa, mushrooms, bone marrow, and buckwheat leaf. Now doesn’t
that sound delicious? J So in a 500 mg tablet of Cataplex C, it
contains 5 mg of ascorbic acid, or 1% of ascorbic acid by weight. This
is the same percentage of natural ascorbic acid that you would find in
any vitamin C-rich foods, including rose hips. So you see that Standard
Process is not trying to dictate the proportions that you find in your

proportions of nutrients.
